Job description

Responsibilities

1. Conduct construction inspections on bridge, highway, and railroad projects in accordance with the client’s procedures and policies.
2. Provide and oversee inspection services to ensure conformance to plans and specifications for all roadway, structures, and specialty items.
3. Observe, measure, and record all construction quantities for contractor payment.
4. Record and review field measurements in project records for review by the client or auditors.
5. Review traffic control daily and document weekly project traffic control on required forms.
6. Inspect daily erosion control items for compliance and effectiveness in the field.
7. Prepare justifications for all pay quantity questions raised by the contractor or client.
8. Maintain accurate daily diaries including contractor information, project history, events, equipment, orders, and times.
9. Supervise field staff and provide resolutions for questions and issues.
10. Train new inspectors to company standards.
11. Perform additional related duties as needed.
