Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking a CEI Technician III in Nashville to lead field inspection, materials testing, and documentation, supervising CEI Technician I/II and coordinating with Project Managers.

You will inspect roadway materials, manage tests, review invoices, and maintain logs, while training junior staff and supporting project delivery in accordance with specs and contracts. Applicants should have OSHA 10 and DOT specs knowledge; SSR offers ESOP, 401(k), health coverage, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with five years' building construction experience.
• Technical school graduate with at least three years' building construction experience.
• Valid state driver''s license and auto insurance.
• OSHA 10-Hour Construction certification and testing certifications (concrete, asphalt, soils, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead field inspection, testing, and documentation while supervising CEI Technician I/II.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to verify contractor compliance with specs.
• Record measurements, manage payments, approve sign-offs.
• Maintain daily logs and field books documenting progress and resolutions.
• Inspect roadway materials and confirm conformance to specs; perform testing.
• Draft newsletters on project status and progress.
• Attend progress meetings and communicate status and issues.
