Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an on-site CEI inspector to monitor and inspect highway construction projects at multiple locations. You will perform complex inspections, review drawings, and document results while adhering to plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Certifications from a State Highway Agency or national entity (ACI/NICET) in earthwork, asphalt, and concrete may be required by the client or jurisdiction.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• 12 years of related inspection experience or equivalent related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex inspections of construction to ensure materials and processes conform to plans and specs.
• Work with higher-grade inspection equipment and perform complex calculations.
• Review drawings to prepare for inspections and document results for the supervisor.
• Read and interpret construction plans, contract provisions and specifications.
