Job summary

Kingston Place, LLC in Vermont seeks a hands-on leader to run the cattle side of a forage-based beef operation. You will oversee receiving, health, feeding, grazing, training your crew, and maintaining herd records alongside our veterinarian and management team.

The role requires +5 years of cattle management, strong supervision abilities, and an ability to maintain organized records. Housing is included and a performance bonus is available.

Qualifications

• + 5 or more years managing cattle on a ranch, in a feedlot or in a grazing operation.
• + Experience supervising a crew.
• + BQA certification, or willingness to earn it within 30 days of starting.
• + Working knowledge of feeding programs, forage production and stored feed.
• + Comfort operating tractors, loaders, hay and feeding equipment.
• + Organized record keeping, on paper and in simple software.

Responsibilities

• Receive incoming cattle: check IDs and condition, assign groups and pastures, and document every arrival.
• Plan grazing rotations and forage production, including haying for winter feed.
• Lead sorting, loading and preparation for scheduled shipments to processing.
• Hire, train and supervise ranch hands and the equipment operator; set daily work standards.
