Job summary

JLB, a retail consulting firm, seeks a Category Manager dedicated to Target. You will lead data-driven category initiatives, craft executive-ready analyses, and present strategic insights to client teams.

The role blends analytics with presentation leadership and collaboration across cross-functional stakeholders. Focused on day-to-day category management, you will own reporting, planograms, seasonal reviews, and market insights to influence merchandising and business outcomes for Target.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in retail or brand background.
• 3+ years in Category Advisor or Captainship preferred.
• Target-specific Category Management experience is a plus.
• Proficient in reporting, analytics, planograms, planogram writing, and presentations.
• Ability to synthesize extensive datasets into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex category work and deliver tailored presentations to Target buying team.
• Own end-to-end reporting, combining advanced data analytics with business drivers.
• Analyze marketplace trends and provide strategic recommendations to Target merchant team.
• Execute category and seasonal reviews and create executive summaries for clients.
• Own planogram process from planning to revisions and proofing.
• Develop digital performance reports and provide strategic recommendations based on data insights.
