About the Role:

Everest National Insurance Company, a member of Everest Re Group, Ltd, has an opportunity available for a Senior Casualty Risk Account Engineer to join the E-CORE (Everest Client Oriented Risk Engineering) team in the New York City or Warren, NJ office. Fully remote is an option.

We seek experienced candidates who understand key loss exposures and controls for a variety of businesses and insurance coverages and have significant experience in developing and managing Risk Engineering services to reduce the cost of risk for insureds. These efforts will include development/maintenance of report templates, instructions, service plans, model recommendations and reference materials. In addition, the incumbent will assign work and manage independent service provider companies and consultants to assure the completion of quality risk assessments and services, delivered on time, cost effectively. The incumbent will also be required to develop, prepare, and manage various publications including the department’s web pages as well as assigned value-added services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Management of E-CORE services including surveys, risk improvement services, loss reviews, recommendations, service plans and other work for assigned underwriting units through an out-sourced business model.
  • Management of assigned independent E-CORE service providers and consultants.
  • Identify service needs and develop plans to meet these needs via new strategies, service tools or new service providers.
  • Develop and maintain report forms, service instructions, reference materials, training guides, service tools & model recommendations.
  • Development and management of publications and website content.
  • Assure the timely delivery of quality work cost-effectively, meeting department performance metrics.
  • Develop and maintain loss-focused recommendation compliance targets and drive service providers to achieve them.
  • Contribute to underwriting guidelines, research, and manage emerging issues and assess business opportunities and prospective insured submissions.
  • Maintain existing value-added services or develop new services to meet customer expectations.
  • Provide marketing support including materials and presentations and make point of sale presentations when requested.
  • Complete desk top reviews and prospective business assessments.
  • Coordination of multi-location service for assigned policyholders.
  • Responding to policyholder and producer requests for Risk Engineering assistance.
  • Adhere to State Risk Consulting regulations and department procedures and policies.
  • Participate in department initiatives & planning sessions to address emerging issues, business opportunities, and corporate directives.
  • Assist in the management and enhancement of the department’s work management software program.

Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 10 years of multi-line workers compensation, general liability, products/completed operations, and commercial auto Risk Engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of managing or coordinating services through multiple consultants.
  • At least 5 years of experience working with large, national accounts.
  • Contractor, multi-employer risk assessment skills.
  • Verifiable author of Risk Engineering articles, alerts, or other publications.
  • Solid presentation skills and experience.
  • Ability to work with large account executive level clients.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products including Publisher and Power Point.
  • Possess strong writing, verbal, & interpersonal skills.
  • Possess a professional designation such as CSP, PE, ARM, ALCM, will be a plus.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of available time.

For New York & California Only: The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $170,000 annually. The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, experience, qualifications and work location.
