Job summary

The Cortland County Department of Social Services is seeking a Senior Caseworker to provide social work services to individuals, families and caregivers, addressing economic, emotional, social and environmental needs. The role involves handling more complex cases with less supervision and may supervise Caseworkers.

Work includes field visits, referrals to services, and collaboration with a Case Supervisor. A valid NYS driver's license is required to perform duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a field related to social work.
• Two years of social casework experience with a public or private agency.

Responsibilities

• Provide social work services to individuals, families and caregivers to address identified needs.
• Make necessary service referrals to solve social problems identified during case work.
• Possible supervision of Caseworkers for complex cases and limited direct supervision.
• Conduct field visits to clients in homes and community settings.

Education
