Kia Design Center in Irvine, California, seeks a Senior CAS Modeler to transform sketches into production-ready digital surfaces. You will collaborate with Designers, Engineers, Visualization Artists, and fellow Modelers to shape future mobility.

The role emphasizes high-quality Alias-driven modeling, data preparation for reviews, and support for physical production-ready data. A strong CAD and visualization background is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience at an automotive OEM.
• Proficient in Autodesk Alias Studio.
• Ability to read and understand engineering criteria.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality Interior and Exterior digital models using Autodesk Alias Studio.
• Build and refine models from sketches, engineering packages, and designer-generated digital models (Alias, SubD, Blender).
• Create surfaces with emphasis on lead-in, surface tension, highlighting, and overall design quality.
• Construct single-span surfaces and logical patch layouts to support collaboration and downstream development.
• Collaborate with Designers, Visualization teams, Engineers, and Modelers throughout the vehicle development process.
• Prepare Alias data for design reviews, visualization, milling, 3D printing, and vendor releases.
• Deliver production-ready digital data to support physical model creation.
• Work with scan data, including reverse engineering and scan cleanup.
• Adapt to evolving project schedules and late-stage changes.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and creative team environment.
