Job summary

DSP Constructors seeks a Carpenter Foreman to oversee planning, layout, construction, and repair of buildings and structures, supervising journey carpenters and laborers while upholding safety and quality on sites in Novi, MI.

You will lead daily field meetings, coordinate with trades, manage costs, and maintain the Foreman daily report, applying expertise in form systems, concrete, drywall, and interior carpentry to deliver projects on time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5+ years' carpentry with supervisory/lead experience.
• Understanding of civil, architectural, structural drawings coordination.
• Knowledge of form systems and concrete placement.
• Able to identify schedule conflicts and modify as needed.
• Layout and measurement with transit, laser, level.
• Strong leadership and ability to supervise others.
• Familiar with duties of other crafts and construction tools.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and construction tools.
• Able to establish relationships with all project stakeholders.
• Commitment to safety and record-keeping.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule work with proper assignments and staffing.
• Inspect completed work against blueprints and specs.
• Maintain safety practices on the job site, including toolbox talks.
• Install interior carpentry: metal studs, drywall, ceilings, doors.
• Monitor safety and enforce standards on site operations.
• Construct wood framing and install drywall on projects.
• Develop work sequencing and lead daily field meetings.
• Monitor hours and material costs for budgeting.
• Record accurate time cards for bookkeeping.
• Use tools, equipment, scaffolds, ladders, and forms safely.
• Coordinate with other trades to avoid delays.
• Generate alternative solutions for scheduling conflicts and changes.
• Follow planning procedures and manpower/equipment schedules.
• Assist with Additional Work Quotes and reports.
• Keep Daily Foreman Report and participate in meetings.
• Contribute to a cooperative, team-oriented environment.
