Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) program as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the practicing state(s).
• BLS certification within six months of employment.
• Valid driver's license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with therapy activities and exercises scheduled in a treatment plan under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Provide, monitor and document therapy services for patients with physical, cognitive, or developmental impairments.
• Communicate patient progress and outcomes to the supervising physical therapist.
• Follow clinical practice guidelines and state licensure requirements.
• May focus on post-acute, long-term care, or home health settings as needed.
