Job summary

VIPCARE in Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support under supervision. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist with procedures, document encounters in the EMR, and manage front-office tasks to ensure smooth clinic operations.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or MA certification, CPR/BLS, and at least 1 year of experience. Spanish bilingual skills are required, and familiarity with Medicare value-based care is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual Spanish required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent certification).
• 1+ year of experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within organizational guidelines.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and clinical office procedures.
• HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention, and CLIA regulations knowledge.
• Experience using EMRs and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and prepare for provider examinations, documenting history and medications in the EMR.
• Measure vital signs and document clinical observations.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist during visits and procedures.
• Explain instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care to patients.
• Perform in-office diagnostic testing (EKGs, vision screenings, spirometry, etc.).
• Administer medications and vaccines as directed; manage sterile techniques.
• Handle front office tasks: scheduling, registrations, referrals, and renewals.
• Maintain patient records ensuring HIPAA compliance and data accuracy.
