Qualifications

• Ability to prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets.
• Proactive in maintaining clean and organized work areas.
• Capable of following recipes and portion control.
• Attention to food temperatures and quality before service.
• Ability to contribute ideas for recipes and menu improvements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Follow proper food handling and food safety techniques according to established policies and regulations.
• Ensure proper quantity of food is prepared.
• Prepare food for special events as instructed by the supervisor.
• Keep work area clean and uncluttered during preparation and service of food.
• Taste prepared food to ensure quality and palatability prior to service.
• Maintain proper temperature of food during preparation and service.
• Record temperatures of food according to established policy.
• Serve meals attractively and on time.
• Label, date and store food according to established policies.
• Ensure refrigerator/freezer temperatures are within the appropriate range.
• Wash pots, pans, serving utensils, etc. according to established procedures.
• Make recommendations to improve recipes, menus, production and service.
