Job summary

Garland Road Nursing & Rehab Center in Enid, OK is seeking a Cook who is passionate about quality food for our residents. The role requires preparing meals per menus and recipes, storing and handling food safely, and supervising meal service by wait staff.

Qualifications

• One year experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, hospital, or similar institution preferred.
• Food handlers’ card or Food Safety Certification where required by local ordinance.
• Must have fundamental understanding of sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
• Must be able to tactfully communicate with co-workers, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies and the general public.
• Must have regular, predictable, and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare foods using standardized recipes and in the required amount specified by production worksheets and in accordance with special diet requirements.
• Follow and enforce methods to control cross-contamination and maintain sanitation.
• Ensure foods prepared are served within meal serving hours with proper temperature and presentation.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen and equipment daily and maintain organized storage areas.
• Assist other department staff to ensure timely production, service, and clean-up; close the kitchen per policy.
