Job summary

Visiting Angels Abilene is seeking a compassionate Companion Caregiver to support seniors in the Big Country area, including Sagerton, Stamford, and Hamlin. You will help with personal care, light housekeeping, meals, and mobility, enabling clients to stay safely at home with dignity.

You will work with a team that values timely communication, patient assistance, and reliability, following health and safety standards. Training in First Aid and emergency response is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent time-management skills.
• Reliable transportation to client visits.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
• A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
• Assist with light housekeeping and errands.
• Encourage exercise and fitness goals for clients.
• Prompt clients to take prescribed medications.
• Assist with shopping and meal planning/prep with clients.
• Support mobility and accompany clients to appointments and walks.
