Job summary

Lakewood Rehabilitation and Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Activities Assistant to join our team. The role focuses on planning, developing, organizing, and implementing our activities program under the supervision of the Activities Director, with strong English communication.

The position requires physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and to work on-site in a supportive long-term care setting, emphasizing quality of life and resident engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Recreation, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in recreational activities, long-term care, assisted living, or healthcare preferred.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating as part of a team.
• Compassionate, energetic, creative, and dependable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and implementing the activities program.
• Meet with the Activities Director, staff, and residents for planning activities.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with other departments and external community agencies.
• Assist in development of, and participation in, in-service training programs.
• Escort residents on field trips as needed.
• Record and maintain residents' participation in activities.
• Assist with the volunteer program.
• Assist with the Activity Director with MDS, care plans, and organization of the Activity Department.
• Report changes in residents' condition to Nursing promptly.
• Coordinate with outside activities and groups for residents.
• Distribute mail/periodicals to residents.
• Conduct scheduled Activity programs on the Monthly Activity Calendar.
