Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina seeks a Cardiovascular Technologist I to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular disease in an invasive catheterization lab. The role functions as a resource to staff and supports procedures with scrub and setup expertise.

Requirements include an Associate's Degree or equivalent, 1 year of experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist I or similar, and certification as AART, RCIS or RCES with CCI.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist I or similar expertise.
• Certification as AART, RCIS or RCES with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
• Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within three months of hire and thereafter maintained.

Responsibilities

• Performs scrub duties and related procedures for cardiac interventions, left heart catheterization and right and left heart catheterization with minimal assistance.
• Maintains ECG setup and rhythm monitoring; records interventions and hemodynamics.
• Ensures safety equipment checks and proper inventory/logs.
• Transports patients as needed.
