Job summary

Adventist HealthCare’s White Oak Medical Center seeks a Cardiovascular Surgeon to provide the full scope of cardiovascular services, including diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care. The role requires extensive CABG and valve experience, plus expertise in transcatheter structural heart procedures and ECMO support.

The surgeon will work within a collaborative heart team, deliver care across ICU and on-call schedules, and participate in multidisciplinary decision making with consultants

Qualifications

  • MD degree with American Board certification in Thoracic Surgery.
  • Minimum five years of post-fellowship surgical experience.
  • Expertise in CABG, valve procedures, and transcatheter structural heart interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the full scope of cardiovascular services, including diagnosis, treatment, and care coordination.
  • Serve as a team member and align with heart team goals and shared patient care management? (team-based objectives).
  • Be current in CABG techniques including on/off-pump and multi-arterial revascularization.
  • Perform arrhythmia surgeries and catheter-based interventions.
  • Apply ECMO and manage critical care ICU patients.
  • Collaborate with consultants, APPs, and nursing staff for shared patient care.
