Job summary

Freeman Hospital in Newcastle is seeking a full-time Band 6 Senior Physiotherapist to join the Cardiothoracic Physiotherapy Team. The role involves providing specialist input to patients undergoing thoracic and cardiac surgery, solid organ transplantation, and cardiothoracic ICU care.

You will be supported by experienced physiotherapists and work within a multidisciplinary team to develop pathways and deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of medical conditions and their impact on function.
• Sound knowledge of the physiotherapy process and assessment.
• Experience in acute surgical and critical care settings desirable.
• NHS experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard physiotherapy care to complex patients in the cardiothoracic pathway.
• Support with pathway development and integrate into multidisciplinary teams.
• Participate in rotational scheme across the Trust where applicable.
• Mentor junior staff and communicate clearly with patients and families.
