Job summary

The University of Maryland Medical System is seeking a skilled Cardiac Sonographer II to join our clinical team in Glen Burnie. You will perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations to assist physicians in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions.

The ideal candidate will have RDCS or equivalent, at least 2 years of experience, and proficiency in 2D, Doppler, and color flow imaging, with strong teamwork and communication.

Qualifications

• RDCS or equivalent certification required.
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac sonography experience.
• Proficient in 2D, Doppler, and color flow imaging.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiograms per established protocols.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain the examination process, and promote patient comfort and safety.
• Obtain, analyze, and accurately document cardiac images and measurements for physician interpretation.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support high-quality patient care.
• Follow all applicable regulatory, safety, and diagnostic imaging standards.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain current knowledge of cardiac sonography practices and technology.
