Island Health in Anacortes, WA seeks a Cardiac Sonographer to perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies and support cardiologists with high-quality imaging. You will work independently with minimal supervision in line with ASE guidelines and Island Hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of hands-on echocardiography experience preferred, including stress echocardiography and transesophageal echocardiography.
• Completion of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Program (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree).
• BLS certification required.
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) credential through ARDMS required.
• Ability to work with ASE guidelines and maintain infection control.

Responsabilités

• Perform a full range of echocardiographic studies as ordered by physicians, including transthoracic, TEE, stress echocardiography, and pharmacologic stress echo.
• Verify patient identity, orders, and informed consent prior to procedures.
• Assume responsibility for patient safety, comfort, and monitoring during procedures.
• Acquire high-quality stress echocardiography and Dobutamine images within established timeframes.
• Assist cardiologists during echocardiographic procedures including TEE.
• Document preliminary findings and measurements in the EMR and required systems.
• Communicate clinical information to cardiologists and care team to support timely decisions.
• Prepare, operate, and maintain ultrasound equipment and supplies; ensure infection control.
• Complete annual training, competencies, and CEUs to maintain credentials.
• Participate in on-call, weekend, or holiday coverage as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Cardiologist or Director of Diagnostic Imaging.
