Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking a skilled Ultrasonography Echo Technician to operate advanced ultrasound equipment and obtain high-quality cardiac images. You will perform adult, pediatric, and fetal echocardiograms, set up exams, and document preliminary findings for physician interpretation.

The role requires a Cardiac Sonography Program or two years of supervised training, plus CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of Cardiac Sonography Program or two years of supervised on-the-job training.
• CPR Certification.
• One year of social work experience in a health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Sets up, adjusts, manipulates and controls the use of all ultrasound equipment for diagnostic echocardiography.
• Performs adult echocardiograms and pediatric and/or fetal echocardiograms with routine measurements.
• Assists physicians during sterile invasive procedures such as pericardial centesis.
• Consults with referring physicians regarding patient history and required procedures; maintains records.
• Ensures accurate charge codes in the Radiology Information System and coordinates exam flow.
