Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Kentucky seeks a Registered Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiography studies in line with ASE and IAC guidelines, ensuring accuracy and compassionate patient care.

The role emphasizes quality assurance and collaborative teamwork across departments. Requirements include graduation from an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound program and active ARDMS or CCI registry, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular ultrasound degree program.
• Registered in non-invasive imaging with ARDMS or CCI.
• New graduates will have 1 year after graduating to obtain registry.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete cardiac ultrasound study in compliance with ASE and IAC guidelines.
• Evaluate results and prepare preliminary report of normal and abnormal findings.
• Assess patient history to determine factors leading to cardiac disease.
• Maintain Quality Assurance of studies and equipment function.
• Pursue continuing education to provide complete diagnostic studies.
• Participate in technical training of Cardiovascular Trainee education.
• Maintain files and disperse accurate records of studies completed.
• Notify interpreting cardiologist of emergency findings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
