Job summary

Penrose-St. Francis Health Services, part of CommonSpirit Health, seeks a Registered ECHO Tech in Colorado Springs to perform and review echocardiograms and manage CV equipment with a focus on patient safety.

You will review baseline assessments and monitor responses during diagnostic procedures. The role requires RDCS or RCS certification, BLS, and solid experience with advanced CV ultrasound equipment, including TEE and stress echo.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• BLS through the American Heart Association.
• Currently registered as RDCS or via RCS.

Responsibilities

• Performs accurate and thorough echocardiograms as ordered by physician.
• Performs specialized testing using computer assisted devices including, but not limited to TEE, Stress Echo, Pharmacological Stress Echo's.
• Recognizes and promptly acts upon unusual results or patient response by informing primary health care team to ensure patient safety and foster optimal outcomes.
• Maintains high skill level through participation in CQI, inservices, ongoing education, and attendance at 80% of staff meetings.
• Promptly troubleshoots and corrects recording instrument malfunction or unusual patient problems that interfere with recordings.
• Must be able to adjust approach based on patient/family level of understanding of test procedure.
