Job summary

University of Arizona seeks an Adjunct Lecturer for the Senior Capstone in Civil and Architectural Engineering and Mechanics. Courses CE 408A and CE 408B will be taught in Fall and Spring 2026-27 as a 0.0625–0.25 FTE, per-course compensation from $5,500 to $11,000. Lectures are Tue/Thu 5:00–6:15pm with project management duties.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree and a PE license, plus strong Civil Engineering practice knowledge. Prior teaching experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; PE license preferred or required where applicable.
• Strong working knowledge and excellence in Civil Engineering practice.
• Experience in teaching or coordinating capstone design projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver three hours of lecture per week on capstone topics.
• Organize project teams and monitor progress with the department head's materials.
• Prepare and assign assignments to assess team learning.
• Coordinate with graders to ensure timely feedback.
• Collaborate with practitioners for expertise as needed.
• hold office hours and be reachable by email during the instructional period.
