Job summary

VSS Group LLC in Johnston, RI / Iselin, NJ hybrid is seeking a Senior Calypso Developer for a 6-month contract to support a Calypso platform on AWS. You will design, build, and optimize front-to-back trading workflows with Calypso and Java, and manage CI/CD pipelines in a cloud environment.

The role requires deep Calypso experience, enterprise Java, and hands-on AWS deployment. Immediate start preferred for a high-impact implementation within our Capital Markets Technology group.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise Java development experience in capital markets or financial systems.
• 8+ years of hands-on Calypso development experience across multiple versions and functional modules.
• Experience with Apache, Lucene, Memcache, RabbitMQ and NoSQL.
• Strong experience developing with Calypso APIs, engine customization, and workflow configurations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and enhance Calypso modules (Trade, Collateral, Risk, Back Office) for front-to-back trading workflows.
• Develop custom Calypso engines, workflows, and APIs using Java and Calypso SDK.
• Support integration with internal and external systems using REST, SOAP, MQ, or other messaging protocols.
• Participate in deployment, monitoring, and optimization of Calypso in AWS cloud environments.
• Manage and maintain CI/CD pipelines and version-controlled deployments using modern DevOps tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Front Office, Risk, Ops, Tech, and external vendors.
• Support Calypso upgrade efforts, bug fixes, and performance tuning.
