Job summary

Degenkolb Engineers is seeking a licensed Structural Engineer to lead associate/principal efforts in the Forensics Practice Area. The role involves rapid development of construction documents, strong client coordination, and cross‑office collaboration across Northern and Southern California.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in structural engineering with a CA PE license, experience in forensics or insurance-related projects, and a track record of durable client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with Structural Engineering emphasis.
• 10+ years of relevant experience with a stable job history.
• California Civil Engineering license (PE).
• Experience building durable client relationships in the Forensics market.
• Experience generating and managing Construction Documents with revenue focus.
• Ability to work collaboratively across multiple offices and remote environments.
• Knowledge of steel, concrete, timber and masonry; CAD and BIM.

Responsibilities

• Develop Construction Documents for damage repair across multiple disciplines.
• Collaborate with Contractors and Owners to understand conditions and project scope.
• Anchor and represent the Forensics team in Southern California while coordinating with Northern California group.
• Travel within the region and interface directly with clients and project team members.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to project management and delivery.
