General Motors is seeking an Electric Drive Calibration and Integration Engineer who will work on cutting-edge electric drive systems for electric vehicles. The role involves calibration design, development, testing, and collaboration with various engineering teams to ensure timely releases, all while pursuing cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Workplace Classification:
This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Pontiac, MI) three times per week, at minimum, or other frequency dictated by the business.

In this role you’ll be responsible for executing electric drive calibration design, analysis, development, testing, documentation, and release for electrified vehicle applications. We will give you the opportunity to achieve program landmarks by allowing you to display your technical and program management skills. What You'll Do:
Responsible for delivering electric drive calibrations on time with quality to support program development.
Lead a small support team to complete electric drive calibrations.
Communicate directly with Propulsion System Lead Calibration Engineer.
Plan all calibration activities and ensure all requirements are met including torque, efficiency and NVH.
Develop electric drive calibrations for application in EV, Hybrid and Fuel Cell vehicles.
Perform motor characterization and analysis using a combination of modeling, simulation, and physical testing.
Analyze motor characterization data and refine calibrations to optimize electric drive performance.
Work closely with motor, inverter, electric drive, control system, software, development, and validation engineering teams to ensure on-time release of calibrations for vehicle programs.
Collaborate with vehicle calibration and development teams to support vehicle integration and testing.
Document and communicate calibration releases through peer and management reviews per program timing.
Actively pursue cost reduction, size reduction and efficiency improvement through participation in advanced projects involving electric drive calibration.
Perform complex diagnostics and problem solving.
Provide test direction to lab technicians, lead technicians, and supervisors.
Stay abreast of new product and test technology.
