Job summary

Atoms is building the next era of progress with real-world robots. This role focuses on owning the CAD PDM system, establishing best practices, and driving BOM and data handoffs across NPI, design, and manufacturing teams in a hardware environment.

You will ensure secure access to design files, define templates, and support full lifecycle from prototype to production, including ECO processes and cross-domain data management in a San Francisco office setting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of PLM/PDM engineering experience in a hardware context.
• Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD software.
• Experience configuring PDM/PLM systems (Solidworks PDM, Windchill, Arena, 3DX) and scripting is a plus.
• Strong understanding of BOM structure and handoff to ERP/MRP.
• Experience managing design data across mechanical and electrical domains.

Responsibilities

• Own the CAD PDM system: configuration, workflows, data organization, and file lifecycle from WIP through release.
• Define CAD best practices and templates to ensure a shared design language across the team.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain to define required CAD metadata.
• Ensure stakeholders have access to design files with proper permissions.
• Own BOM structure standards and drive production BOM releases with NPI and Design Engineering.
• Own drawing standards, title blocks, and revision blocks across the engineering team.
• Collaborate with New Product Introduction and Manufacturing on documentation management and control.
• Plan and manage BOM revision releases in partnership with NPI and Design Engineering.
• Own data handoff from PDM to ERP/MRP systems.
