Job summary

Atoms is seeking a PLM/PDM engineer in San Francisco to own CAD PDM systems, BOM standards, and data handoffs across mechanical and electrical domains. You will implement best practices, manage access and permissions, and collaborate with manufacturing, NPI, and design teams to streamline workflows.

Qualifications include 3+ years in hardware PLM/PDM, Solidworks (or similar), and experience configuring PDM/PLM systems (Solidworks PDM, Windchill, Arena, 3DX).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of PLM/PDM engineering experience in hardware.
• Experience with Solidworks or other 3D CAD software.
• Configuring PDM/PLM systems (Solidworks PDM, Windchill, Arena, 3DX or similar).
• Strong understanding of BOM structures and handoffs to ERP/MRP.
• Experience supporting a product through full lifecycle from prototype to production.
• Design data management across mechanical and electrical domains.
• Experience configuring PDM/PLM workflows to support ECO processes.

Responsibilities

• Own the CAD PDM system: configuration, workflows, data organization, and file lifecycle.
• Define CAD best practices and templates for a shared design language.
• Collaborate with manufacturing/supply chain to define CAD metadata.
• Ensure stakeholders have access to design files with proper permissions.
• Own BOM structure standards and production BOM releases with NPI/Design Eng.
• Own drawing standards, title blocks, and revision blocks.
• Collaborate on documentation management with New Product Introduction and Manufacturing.
• Plan and manage BOM revision releases with NPI/Design Eng.
• Own data handoff from PDM to ERP/MRP systems.
