Job summary

Basesix Systems is seeking a Senior CAD Engineer in Huntsville, AL to deliver accurate post-sale engineering deliverables for low-voltage projects. You will develop system designs, shop drawings, BOMs, submittals, and installation documentation for security, access control, structured cabling, and voice/data systems.

You will collaborate with Sales, Preconstruction, and Operations, coordinate with PMs and field teams, manage revisions, and support change orders and project modifications.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of CAD drafting, design, or engineering experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Excel/Word/Outlook.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project documents.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain shop drawings, system layouts, installation documents, and as-built drawings.
• Develop bills of materials, conformance estimates, and submittal packages.
• Review plans, specs, and estimates to ensure accurate documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Sales, Operations, and field teams.
• Manage drawing revisions and document control using marks and field updates.
• Assist with engineering support for change orders and project modifications.
• Coordinate with subcontracted engineering resources as needed.
• Visit project sites to verify field conditions and support execution.
• Support Sales and Preconstruction with technical reviews and layouts.
