Job summary

Kyocera International, Inc. in San Diego is seeking a qualified Designer 3 to create complex drawings and plans for engineering and manufacturing use. You will interface with customers as needed and contribute to design execution across multiple projects.

The role requires 4+ years of drafting experience, strong CAD/CAM skills, and a deep understanding of drafting standards. This position is exempt from overtime and adheres to our quality systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; technical or trade schooling preferred.
• 4+ years of experience as mechanical drafter/designer or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of drafting techniques, CAD software, design rules, and documentation systems.
• Ability to apply advanced knowledge to solve mechanical and fabrication problems.
• Interact with customers on a limited basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare working plans and complex drawings under minimal supervision.
• Use CAD/CAM tools to post and update designs and packages.
• Perform engineering computations and verify dimensions and accuracy.
• Own design execution and manage design review and follow-ups.
• Coordinate with internal departments affected by design development.
