Job summary

Accounting Search seeks an experienced California-licensed attorney to join its civil litigation and creditors' rights practice. You will represent clients in court, review and sign pleadings, and oversee case progress with a skilled support team.

The ideal candidate will handle a high volume of filings, negotiate settlements, and stay updated on state and federal debt collection laws while working independently and collaboratively.

Qualifications

• Active California law license.
• 5–7 years civil litigation experience, preferably including collections or creditors' rights.
• Court appearances and independently handling hearings.
• Strong civil litigation procedures, filings, and documentation.
• Ability to review and sign high volumes of documents accurately.
• Analytical case assessment and settlement negotiation ability.
• Experience coaching or mentoring colleagues or support staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, research, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
• Ability to manage multiple matters with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Represent clients in court hearings and related civil litigation and collection matters.
• Review, approve, and sign a high volume of pleadings, motions, filings, and documents.
• Manage litigation matters and ensure California court rules compliance.
• Review discovery materials, evaluate case information, and determine actions.
• Negotiate settlements with involved parties and counsel.
• Prepare and file legal documents and ensure timely filings.
• Communicate progress with Managing Attorney, clients, and staff.
• Conduct legal research and evaluate potential outcomes using statutes and precedents.
• Coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
• Assist with client audits and compliance requirements.
• Stay informed of changes in state and federal debt collection laws.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate case records and manage competing deadlines.
