Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain high‑performance C++ software within a Unix/Linux environment. You will integrate with APIs, work with system libraries and hardware interfaces, and contribute to documentation as part of an Agile development team.

The role requires strong C++ skills, experience in Linux, and the ability to obtain a U.S. interim secret clearance. Travel may be required, and the position is onsite in Huntsville.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• Experience in C++ software development.
• Experience working and debugging in Unix/Linux environments.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued interim security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain high‑performance software applications using C++.
• Work within Unix/Linux operating systems, including shell scripting and system‑level programming.
• Integrate with APIs, system libraries, and hardware interfaces as needed.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including technical specifications and user guides.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum development cycles and sprint planning.
