Job summary

4p-Consulting-Inc. seeks a Senior C++ Software Engineer for on-site roles in Irving, TX or Atlanta, GA. The contract is 6 months+ with final interviews in person.

Core tech: modern C++ on Windows, Python, BDD/test automation, TCP/IP networking, and Google Test/cppUnit. You’ll lead teams, design software, and drive quality across the lifecycle. The day-to-day includes feature design, unit testing, collaboration with care teams, and mentoring peers in engineering best practices while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, MIS or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.
• 5+ years of C++ experience on Windows.
• Modern C++11+ experience.
• 3+ years of Python experience.
• Experience leading or managing teams.
• Experience producing technical designs for software applications.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Experience debugging complex systems incl. hardware and software.
• Test automation with Cucumber, Behave, Gherkin.
• Unit testing with Google Test or cppUnit.
• Networking, TCP/IP socket level communications.
• Mentoring SW Engineering standards and best practices.
• Agile development experience.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new product features and document them.
• Build and execute unit tests for code.
• Collaborate with Customer Care to resolve post-release issues.
• Maintain high quality and protect sensitive information.
• Provide input on release management decisions.
• Lead issues to timely resolutions and mentor teammates.
• Participate in agile development with automated tests.
• Contribute to analysis, design, testing and reviews.
• Estimate effort based on requirements.
• Write product specs, designs and manuals.
• Evaluate third-party products and specs.
• Make informed design decisions based on environment knowledge.
• Contribute to peer performance reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Support projects through development lifecycle.
