Socket.dev is seeking a seasoned C++ engineer to join our defense-oriented team near Fort Worth, TX. The role focuses on open mission systems software architecture and mission-critical C++ development in Linux environments.

You will work on middleware, DDS communications, and service contracts while engaging in mission simulations and integration testing. Ideal candidates bring extensive C++ expertise, a strong background in Linux, and experience with MOSA/FACE standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM is required.
• 5+ years of C++ development experience.
• Experience with OMS software architecture and development.
• C++ mission software development in Linux environments.
• Middleware and data distribution (DDS, pub/sub) understanding.
• Service-oriented and event-driven software design experience.
• Experience developing service contracts.
• Interface definition, ICD development, and data modelling.
• Mission-level simulation and integration testing.
• Onsite work availability (100%).
• Travel up to 10%.
