Job summary

Garmin seeks a Senior C++ Software Engineer - Map Navigation in the US (Cary, NC or Kansas City) to advance map search performance on embedded devices. You'll work on core systems enabling fast, memory‑efficient map search across wearables to cycling computers, tackling next‑gen search, memory optimization and high‑performance runtimes.

You will design scalable architectures, evaluate new technologies, and mentor other engineers while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to deliver

Qualifications

• BS in CS/EE/CE/SE/Math/Physics or equivalent experience.
• GPA 3.0+ typical requirement.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop next‑gen search systems and high‑performance runtime architectures in C++.
• Improve map search performance, data efficiency, and accuracy on embedded devices.
• Lead architectural reviews and drive scalable platform evolution.
• Mentor engineers and participate in cross‑functional collaboration.
• Provide technical direction on performance, memory, and UX tradeoffs.
