Hydrolix is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer specializing in C++ to join a small, fast-growing cloud data platform team. This remote role is based in the United States.

Develop high-performance C++23 software for large-scale data processing, address database challenges, and contribute to architecture discussions while mentoring teammates. Qualifications

• Experience in modern C++ programming, debugging, and performance tuning of distributed or highly concurrent low-level software systems.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design/architecture.
• Experience with network/socket programming (event loops, async callbacks) and multi-threaded programming.
• Experience with distributed systems (consistency, availability, scalability, fault tolerance).

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, scalable C++ software for large-scale data processing.
• Address complex database issues and boost performance for stream processing and multithreaded applications.
• Build upon large-scale, well-maintained open-source projects with bleeding-edge optimizations.
• Participate in product and architecture discussions.
• Collaborate across teams to solve challenging technical problems.
• Advocate for industry best practices to ensure maintainable, scalable code.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
