Job summary

NJF Global Holdings Ltd in Chicago seeks a Senior Software Developer to build mission-critical real-time trading, risk, and decision-support systems.

You will design and implement high-throughput distributed services with low latency, working with traders and quantitative developers across global markets.

This hybrid role requires in-office three days a week, with strong C++ and systems programming skills and cross-team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with modern C++ (11/14/17+).
• Experience in high-throughput, low-latency applications.
• Proven ability to design scalable, highly available distributed systems.
• Proficient with SQL and relational databases (ideally PostgreSQL).
• Familiarity with networking and socket programming (TCP/UDP).
• Excellent cross-team communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Designing and developing real time distributed services for position management, PnL, and risk calculations.
• Building scalable, fault tolerant systems capable of processing millions of events per second.
• Developing reliable messaging infrastructure and high performance data pipelines.
• Optimising systems for latency, throughput, scalability, and resilience.
• Collaborating with traders, quantitative developers, and engineering teams on production solutions.
• Contributing to system architecture, design, and platform improvements.
• Investigating and resolving complex production and performance issues.
