Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Engineer in Palo Alto to build high-performance, low-maintenance, zero-downtime platforms and applications supporting our transformation to a tech-driven organization. You will influence design and contribute across the software lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in .NET, strong cloud experience (AWS/Azure/GCP), and hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, SQL/NoSQL, and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development experience within the .NET framework (C#)
• 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, or another cloud service
• 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks
• Advanced understanding of DevOps concepts and Azure DevOps tools
• Strong knowledge of CS data structures and algorithms
• Experience with microservices and REST APIs
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Security concepts and monitoring tooling familiarity
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Scope, design, and build scalable, resilient distributed systems
• Build product definitions and drive toward optimal solutions
• Engage in cross-functional collaboration across the software lifecycle
• Lead design sessions and code reviews to raise engineering quality
• Define and support reusable application components/patterns
• Mentor other engineers and share best practices across teams
