Job summary

Applied Materials, Inc. is hiring a Buyer III to procure materials, supplies, and services for state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and programs to ensure supply continuity and optimize cost.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and 2–4 years of experience, with strong negotiation and cross-functional leadership skills. Travel up to 10% may be required as projects move between sites in Austin, TX and Santa Clara, CA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–4 years of purchasing or supply chain experience.
• Strong knowledge of industry best practices and ability to lead small projects.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and program management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply continuity to enable manufacturing with speed and quality.
• Lead cross-functional team to drive problem resolution for supply issues with key stakeholders.
• Drive purchasing activities to achieve lowest cost while considering quality and reliability.
• Lead inventory and E&Z reduction efforts.
• Manage and lead assigned Purchasing Projects.
• Manage complex and sensitive information with supplier leadership and internal stakeholders.
• Contribute to purchasing process improvement and act as trainer for department purchasing activities.
