Job summary

Food Manufacturing (Bakery) in Commerce, CA seeks a Senior Buyer to own the procurement of assigned categories, independently sourcing, negotiating, and managing purchasing for key ingredients and packaging.

The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, experience with market-priced commodities, and progress toward CPSM or CPIM certifications. This position offers growth toward supervisory roles in a family-oriented company.

Qualifications

• Food manufacturing experience is required; bakery background is a big plus.
• Experience with commodity or ingredient purchasing subject to market pricing.
• Tactical purchasing experience required with potential to grow into strategic sourcing.
• Experience monitoring usage and leading data analytics.
• Progress toward CPSM, APICS/ASCM CPIM, or equivalent certification.
• Intermediate MS Excel experience: formulas/functions, data management, reporting & analysis, formatting & productivity.

Responsibilities

• Own procurement of assigned categories for ingredients and packaging.
• Source, negotiate, and manage purchasing for key ingredients and packaging.
• Serve as a technical resource and informal mentor to the purchasing team.
• Combine negotiation skills with deep purchasing knowledge and work with limited oversight.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
