Job summary

Benco Dental, part of the 1930 Ventures family, seeks a Senior Buyer Planner to manage daily purchasing, balance inventory with demand, and mentor new hires. This on-site role requires strong ERP/DRP skills, supplier collaboration, and a focus on reducing backorders while maximizing turns.

You will collaborate with marketing and vendors, monitor PO accuracy, and drive process improvements to support our nationwide distribution network.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stock inventories for all assigned vendors.
• Use DRP daily to place orders and review portals.
• Increase product turns to meet company objectives.
• Monitor POs and delivery dates; expedite as needed.
• Process vendor returns to clear overstock.
• Handle binwork requests and close within 24 hours.
• Weekly review of reports guiding stock moves.
• Forecast product trends with marketing for new stock.
• Review flyers to decide stock availability.
• Check buyer queue and manage workflow.
• Monitor work orders for timely item creation.
• Attend vendor trainings and continuous improvement sessions.
• Provide clear communication to internal/external teams.
• Performs other duties; comply with policies.

Position Summary:

Responsible for handling the everyday purchasing of assigned products sold at Benco; balancing purchases with current inventory, keeping adequate supply of product without backorders and overstocks; working on inventory planning with all vendors. Sr. Buyer will serve as mentor for new hires and will take ownership of a key department metric.

Do These Responsibilities Interest YOU?

• Effectively maintains stock inventories for all assigned vendors by maintaining yearly fill rate goals.
• Use DRP system daily to place orders, transfer and review MTD portals; both general and customer and/or TR specific portals.
• Increase product turns to meet company objectives.
• Monitor purchase orders by reviewing PO before submitting to Vendor, maintaining accurate delivery dates on all PO's. Follow up on PO's with past due delivery dates and expedite as required.
• Consistently processes vendor returns (overstock/slow moving inventory) to meet goals for each DC.
• Maintain Binwork requests for assigned vendors - answer and close out within 24 hours. If request can't be closed for any reason, enter issue in system. Follow up on these requests daily - noting any changes in status.
• Weekly review of reports that help guide whether items should be moved from stock to non-stock and vise-versa.
• Anticipate product trends by working with marketing to decide which new products to stock and which to make non-stock because of a reduction sales.
• Be proactive to flyers and publications. Items in flyers should be reviewed to determine if they should be made stock in all DC's before the publication starts.
• Check buyer queue regularly to manage work flow.
• Monitor/process work orders to ensure items are created in a timely manner.
• Attend training classes for assigned vendors as well as continuous improvement training, which will assist in performance of job functions.
• Provides clear communication to both internal and external associates and customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards to support the efficient operations of the department and company

• This is not a remote role. Candidates must reside within an hour of Pittston, PA for onsite work 2 days per week.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Supply Chain, required
• 2-4 years minimum of Purchasing and Supply Chain experience, required
