Job summary

Hi-Line Industries is seeking a motivated Buyer to support the Procurement & Purchasing Team for manufacturing operations.

The role involves sourcing, purchasing, and managing metals and related components for water and wastewater projects, ensuring timely delivery to meet deadlines. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in manufacturing or metals distribution and a degree in SCM or related fields.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in supply chain, business, or construction management.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or metals industry experience.
• Attention to detail and accurate data entry.
• Familiarity with ERP or purchasing systems preferred; strong computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Material Purchasing: Sourcing and ordering materials such as steel, stainless steel plate, structural components, pipe and tubing.
• Vendor Coordination: Request quotes, confirm pricing, issue orders, and manage delivery.
• Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels and reorder to meet production schedules.
• Purchase Order Management: Create and process POs with accuracy and policy alignment.
• Cost and Quality Assurance: Compare pricing and ensure materials meet quality standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align purchasing with projects and inventory plans.
• Documentation: Maintain MTRs and organized order/invoice records.
• Continuous Improvement: Participate in process improvements for purchasing efficiency.
