Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a Buyer to manage sourcing and procurement for Plants Calhoun, Central, Greene County, Lindsay Hill, Sabic, and the NCCC. Responsibilities include sourcing, RFQs, bid analysis, negotiation, and PO creation for inventory, non-stock materials, and services.

The role emphasizes supplier expediting, problem resolution, and strong collaboration with business unit partners to meet plant needs and maintain reliable electricity delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, finance, or engineering preferred.
• Experience in procurement, sourcing or contracting processes preferred.
• Performance in a transactionally intensive role preferred.
• Maximo Purchasing system experience preferred.
• Work in utilities or heavy industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure for Plants Calhoun, Central, Greene County, Lindsay Hill, Sabic and the NCCC.
• Issue RFQs, analyze bids, negotiate terms, and create purchase orders for inventory, non-stock materials, and services.
• Expedite orders and resolve supplier problems to maintain supply continuity.
• Collaborate with business unit partners to align procurement with plant needs.
