Job summary

Harmonic Drive LLC seeks a Senior Buyer – Electro-Mechanical Products to lead procurement strategies for precision components and sustain AS9100 compliance. You will manage PO lines, supplier performance, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering and manufacturing.

Required BSBA and 5+ years in manufacturing; CPM/CPIM preferred. International travel may be involved and ERP, MS Office, and Dynamics AX experience is expected.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain accurate, open PO lines with inbound quantities and due dates.
  • Manage supplier performance with KPIs like on-time delivery and QA rating.
  • Initiate problem solving and corrective actions for suppliers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company needs.
  • Develop, implement and negotiate procurement strategies for best total landed cost.
  • Maintain inventory levels to meet company needs and cost goals.
  • Expedite purchase requisitions and source alternative providers to mitigate disruptions.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and cost savings.
  • Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Possess strong negotiating and organizational skills.
  • Interpret and manage MRP data to meet objectives.
  • Utilize ERP, blueprint reading, MS Office, and Microsoft Dynamics AX.

Job description

The Senior Buyer – Electro-Mechanical Products is responsible for the development, planning and execution of procurement strategies for precision electro-mechanical commodities and supports related administrative functions to maintain AS9100 certification. Strong working knowledge of MRP and best purchasing practices are requirements for this role.

Essential Functions

  • Create and maintain accurate, open PO lines defining inbound quantities and due dates from suppliers.
  • Mange supplier performance including KPIs such as on-time-delivery and quality assurance rating.
  • Initiate problem solving initiatives and corrective actions for suppliers with process or execution deficiencies.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to provide effective solutions that support Company needs
  • Develop, implement and negotiate procurement strategies to provide best total landed cost.
  • Maintain inventory levels to meet Company needs while achieving cost management goals.
  • Partner with internal customers as needed to expedite purchase requisitions or identify solutions for supply chain disruptions, to include the sourcing of alternative providers as needed.

This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
