Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; an associate degree may be considered.
• Experience in purchasing and procurement within a supply chain environment, including managing purchase orders and vendor relationships.
• Strong time management skills with a proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating suppliers, pricing, and order issues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with vendors, internal stakeholders, and preparing documentation.
• Experience writing technical specifications and other technical documents related to purchasing and materials.
• Proficiency with Costpoint and other ERP systems for managing purchase orders and supply chain data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify requisitions with item descriptions, part numbers, and specs before placing orders.
• Place purchase orders following company policies and quality standards.
• Identify and maintain sources of supply with favorable pricing and dependable delivery.
• Expedite and monitor open orders to ensure on-time delivery and resolve delays.
• Maintain organized files and records for tracking and audits.
• Interview salespeople and vendors to evaluate products and route technical info to departments.
• Maintain liaison between internal departments and external vendors to support supply chain efficiency.
• Develop new sources of supply to strengthen the supplier base and mitigate risk.
• Consolidate orders from different departments to leverage bulk pricing.
• Coordinate with planners to align purchasing with production and inventory needs.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and other documents for suppliers.
