Job summary

MOHR Talent in West Point, MS is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support procurement and strategic sourcing for a growing aerospace and defense manufacturing operation. This role will manage suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, drive cost-reduction initiatives, and ensure materials and components are available to support production requirements.

The Senior Buyer will collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Logistics while maintaining compliance with aerospace procurement

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience.
• Manufacturing procurement experience required.
• Aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Strong supplier negotiation and cost-reduction experience.
• Experience purchasing materials, components, subassemblies, and/or engineered parts.
• Strong understanding of supplier performance, lead times, and supply-chain risk.
• Excellent communication, organization, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers.
• Manage RFQs, purchase orders, pricing, and supplier follow-up.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, lead times, and commercial terms.
• Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities.
• Monitor supplier quality, delivery, and overall performance.
• Support inventory and production requirements.
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Logistics.
• Maintain compliance with aerospace/defense procurement requirements.
• Mentor and support junior purchasing team members.
