Job summary

MOHR Talent is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to support procurement and supply chain operations within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This role focuses on strategic sourcing, supplier management, purchasing, cost reduction, and material availability for complex production.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in aerospace/defense or other regulated industries, with proven supplier negotiations, ERP/MRP experience (SAP or Oracle), and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain experience in regulated environments.
• Experience sourcing materials, components, subassemblies, and engineered products.
• Proven success in supplier negotiations, cost reduction, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of aerospace/defense compliance including FAR, DFARS, and ITAR.
• ERP/MRP experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms; strong negotiation, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related field preferred.
• APICS, ISM, CPSM, CPIM or similar certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage strategic sourcing and purchasing for materials, components, subassemblies, and engineered items.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and compliance.
• Develop sourcing strategies to improve performance, reduce costs, and mitigate risk.
• Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, terms, and commercial agreements.
• Drive cost-reduction initiatives across commodities and supplier categories.
• Manage RFQs, purchase orders, order tracking, and supplier communications.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Supply Chain teams on material availability.
