Job summary

The Fordy Group is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join a growing procurement team in the aerospace and defense sector. You will develop strategic sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier relationships, and maximize quality, delivery and cost-effectiveness across the supply chain.

Responsibilities include negotiating pricing and lead times, managing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance with aerospace standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain.
• Experience within aerospace, defense, aviation, manufacturing or another highly regulated industry.
• Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiation and cost reduction.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Epicor or similar.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Familiarity with MRP/ERP purchasing, inventory management and production planning systems.
• Knowledge of aerospace/defense quality standards, compliance, supplier qualification and risk management.
• Strong analytical, commercial negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• U.S. aerospace/defense procurement experience and knowledge of government contracting requirements would be advantageous.
