Our facility in Billerica, Massachusetts, located in the metropolitan Boston area, specializes in the design and manufacturing of advanced photonics products based on MEMS and other micro-scale optical devices. Our unique technology enables the highest system performance in the most compact and cost-effective formats across various applications.

This site's Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) products are laser-based imaging tools that have transformed ophthalmic care and significantly impacted patients in cardiology, dermatology, oncology, gastroenterology, and other medical specialties.

We are currently seeking a Sr. Buyer for our Billerica site. This role is responsible for procuring services, equipment, and materials necessary to support daily operations. The successful candidate will negotiate and procure inventory and non-inventory goods and services at the lowest acquisition cost, ensuring quality standards are met.

Main responsibilities:

1. Solicit bids, analyze quotations against specifications, and select suppliers capable of supporting our needs;
2. Partner with work cells to procure services and materials;
3. Provide analyses and recommendations to support purchasing and scheduling decisions;
4. Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders;
5. Maintain contract files, purchase order files, and appropriate tracking systems;
6. Stay current with market requirements, resources, pricing, and trends;
7. Negotiate purchases to achieve the lowest acquisition cost;
8. Communicate effectively with internal customers and suppliers;
9. Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers;
10. Perform other related duties of comparable complexity as directed.

Requirements:

• High school education plus specialized courses;
• 5-7 years of experience in purchase expediting, material, or inventory control;
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics;
• Effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing, across all organizational levels;
• Must be a U.S. Person.
